Absztrakt (kivonat)

First of all, to understand the euro system it is necessary to unfold the complexity of the reasons that led to the creation of the European Union and the single currency area. It is also important to look at the historical evolution of the European economic integration in the context of political treaties in order to discover how the economic reasons influenced the political decision-making process. To explore the euro crisis, the benefits and the cost of the European economic and monetary integration, enables us to see the two sides of the coin. What if we search for the causes of the crisis outside of Europe? Is it possible that the euro zone is the victim of external circumstances because of the increased interdependence on a global level? Finally, the last question is what does the future hold? What are the different opinions about the future of the euro zone?
