Absztrakt (kivonat)

This study examines the social and economic impact of coffee shops, as well as the modern hospitality trends. In the recent years the rise of remote work, freelancing, and community-based entrepreneurship has transformed coffee shops into multifunctional spaces. Beyond serving beverages, they have become venues for collaboration, studying, informal meetings, and networking - especially in urban locations. While existing studies highlight the role of coffee shops in urban cultures, there is limited research on how they directly influence local economic growth and social capital. The aim of the research is to fill the gap by examining both customers’ and owners’ perspective, proving the economic rule that demand generates supply, and describing the modern trends of the industry. This dissertation explores how coffee shops function as important spaces for social interaction and economic contribution. It focuses on how cafés provide the fertile ground for community building, support of professional networking, and development of local and global economic activities.
