Absztrakt (kivonat)

During the process of writing my thesis, I gained new perspectives on the Hungarian economy and the role of multinational companies in international sporting events. Through both primary and secondary(online surveys) and secondary (literature review) research, I found that most respondents perceive these events as economically beneficial, particularly for tourism and hospitality. The literature and survey results also highlighted the importance of attracting foreign-owned multinational companies, especially in the technological and automotive sectors. The research of Formula 1 racing illustrated how such events contribute to Hungary's visibility and economic development, while survey responses confirmed that multinational companies have a moderate but notable impact. My favourite part of the research was analysing the survey data, which raised further questions for future studies. Overall, this thesis provided valuable insights into the economic impact of international sporting events and emphasised opportunities for Hungary to strengthen other sectors and attract more foreign investment.
