Absztrakt (kivonat)
The focus of this dissertation is on the manner in which organizational culture impacts the professional and personal growth of its employees. This dissertation begins to explore the theoretical frameworks related to organizational culture and development. In so doing, it was demonstrated that the workplace environment has a significant impact on employees' motivation, learning, and daily behavior. In order to provide a better understanding of this relationship in a practical setting, a survey was administered to 61 employees of ABSS in Almaty. The findings indicated that the majority of employees viewed the company's culture in a positive light; particularly with respect to a clearly defined mission or sense of direction. However, there were several other aspects (e.g., employees' ability to participate in decisionmaking) where the ratings were significantly lower than those for mission. As such, there are potential areas of development and improvement for ABSS. Furthermore, the analysis demonstrated that all cultural elements had a positive correlation to employees' perceptions of their own professional and personal growth; "Mission" was identified as the primary factor influencing employees' perception of their professional and personal development. In summary, the dissertation concluded that organizational culture is not merely a backdrop for employees' experiences in the workplace, but rather an active force that contributes to employees' learning, feeling and performance in their jobs. Strong cultures that promote health and development in employees contribute to employees' continued professional development, motivation and job satisfaction. As such, recommendations for organizations are to increase communication, foster employee participation and ensure that development opportunities are aligned with organizational cultural values in order to create environments where employees can continue to grow and be successful.
