Absztrakt (kivonat)
The thesis explores the employee well-being and work-life balance practices of large companies operating in Hungary from the perspective of how these organizations integrate well-being into their HR strategies and daily operations. The goal of the research was to understand how companies interpret the concept of well-being, what initiatives they implement to support employees, and how HR professionals assess the effectiveness of these initiatives. The study was conducted using a qualitative approach: HR staff from six large companies with at least 1,000 employees provided detailed insights into their organizations' practices through written, semi-structured interviews.Thematic analysis shows that companies treat well-being as a holistic, strategic priority that goes beyond legal obligations and covers a broad spectrum of physical, mental, emotional, social, and financial aspects. The most commonly used programs include various forms of hybrid working, mental health support services, customized benefit systems, and community-building initiatives. Companies measure the impact of these programs in various ways, including engagement and satisfaction surveys, participation rates, and qualitative feedback. However, the results also reveal challenges: hybrid working often depends on management interpretation, there is uncertainty and caution in the feedback culture, and efficiency measurement is often irregular or intuitive. Overall, the research highlights that large companies are increasingly striving to create people-centered, sustainable, and flexible workplaces and consider employee well-being to be a key factor in corporate success.
