Absztrakt (kivonat)

Reviewing the outbreak of COVID-19 at the beginning of 2020 on a global scale, the Coronavirus has had a direct impact on the global economy and public health system, leading to considerable adverse shocks. This paper presents a comparative study of the different economic strategies and healthcare measures adopted by the two major global economies, the United States and China, in their emergency responses to the COVID-19 outbreak. On the economic side, China pursued centralized stimulus, whereas the United States adopted decentralized fiscal and economic policies. In terms of healthcare, China's government-led mandatory interventions also differed from the decentralized policies adopted by the states in the US. In this paper, we will discuss the differences between these policies and their impacton each country’s economic outcomes during COVID-19.
