How Strategic Credit Management Contributes to Liquidity and Corporate Financial Decisions in a Medium-Sized HVAC-R EnterpriseCredit Management Practices and Their Impact on a Medium-Sized Enterprise in HungaryPATVAROSBENCE MÁTÉABSTRACTThis thesis explores the role of strategic credit management in supporting liquidity and shaping financial decision-making within a medium-sized enterprise in the Hungarian HVAC-R sector. The research applied a mixed methods approach in which the semi structured interviews conducted with senior managers served as the primary and most influential source of evidence. These conversations provided deep organisational insight into operational practices, strategic priorities and the reasoning behind financial behaviour. The structured employee survey, which resulted in 115 valid responses, contributed supporting insight and was used mainly to clarify and confirm internal perceptions related to the additional research questions rather than forming the core analytical foundation.Evidence from the interviews strongly suggests that a structured approach to credit and receivables management supported by timely monitoring, digital workflow tools and effective cooperation between financial and operational departments contributes directly to stronger liquidity and greater financial autonomy. Disciplined credit control reduces the need for external financing solutions such as factoring or loans and supports decision-making based on internal financial capacity. The findings from the survey indicate that credit management is perceived across the organisation as a strategic function rather than a purely administrative task. Awareness and understanding of credit policies tend to increase with organisational responsibility, although the perceived importance of credit control is acknowledged across all departments. In summary, the results show that strategic and well implemented credit management not only supports liquidity but also strengthens financial resilience and enables more confident and informed decision-making. While the employee survey enriched the analysis with additional internal perspectives, the findings from the interviews served as the determining basis for answering the main research question.
