Absztrakt (kivonat)

This study investigates the components affecting career commitment among fresh graduates entering Vietnam's ever-evolving labor market. Career turnover is a rather important issue caused by a misalignment between Generation Z perceptions and the realities of traditional corporate environments. A mixed-methods study design was utilized, involving data collection from 105 fresh graduates. The data demonstrated that commitment goes beyond salary. The most salient factors include the nature of career progression opportunities and relationship with higher-up managers and recognition of work. The study also revealed a significant emphasis of work-life balance and appropriate training had an impact in terms of loyalty and retention. Accordingly, the study offered organizational recommendations for the Vietnam workplace. In order to bolster retention, organizations should offer clear paths of career progression, more attention to the coaching of employees by leaders and also flexibility with policies. Overall, this study provided a roadmap to build a more committed, more stable Generation Z workforce.
