Absztrakt (kivonat)

This thesis explores how cultural and behavioral factors influence the success of digital transformation in the Hungarian leasing industry, focusing on a medium-sized automotive leasing company. While digitalization has reshaped financial services, the leasing sector in Hungary still faces operational fragmentation, manual workflows, and limited digital maturity. Using a single-case study and semi-structured interviews with managers and employees, the research examines the implementation of a new workflow-based satellite system introduced in response to COVID-19 disruptions. The case study outlines the full implementation process and the system’s functionalities. Quantitative analysis demonstrates significant improvements in process efficiency and automation coverage, while qualitative findings highlight how organizational culture, siloed knowledge, generational differences, and initial resistance strongly shaped the transformation. Successful adaptation was supported by transparent communication, iterative development, and growing collaboration between IT and business units. The thesis concludes that digital transformation is not solely a technological initiative but also a cultural one, where employee mindset, organizational readiness, and management practices determine long-term success. Recommendations and directions for future research are provided to enhance digital maturity within the leasing sector.
