Absztrakt (kivonat)
This thesis qualitatively analyses the link between Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and employee engagement at Paramount Skydance Corporation's Budapest SSC, focusing on post-merger internalization of global strategies. Findings confirm CSR is a critical differentiator in the competitive SSC environment, securing commitment by satisfying employees' psychological needs for meaning and purpose, validating self-actualization and social exchange theories. Internal CSR was strategically preserved post-merger to reinforce psychological safety. However, perceived corporate hypocrisy, which is stemming from actions like cancelling external CSR events and cutting the Diversity and Inclusion budget, undermined trust, fostered scepticism, and risked turnover, particularly among highly engaged staff. In conclusion, the thesis highlights problems of inauthenticity, strategic ambiguity, and tensions from mandatory participation. Recommendations to maximize CSR's competitive edge include reestablishing authenticity, offering employees choice in initiatives, and prioritizing localized, human-centric projects.
