Absztrakt (kivonat)

This thesis examines how multinational corporations can manage global virtual teams effectively by combining available digital solutions with appropriate leadership practices. As virtual collaboration becomes a standard part of international business, managers face challenges related to communication, cultural differences, trust building, and coordination across time zones. The theoretical part of the thesis reviews international and Hungarian literature on virtual teamwork, highlighting the importance of both technological tools and the human side of management. While international research mainly focuses on digital structures and global coordination, Hungarian authors tend to emphasize interpersonal factors, such as trust, motivation, and team cohesion. The research uses a qualitative methodology, based on semi-structured interviews with managers who lead global virtual teams in multinational companies. The findings show that digital platforms such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and corporate-level communication systems support daily operations, but they are only effective when combined with clear processes, transparent expectations, and a leadership style that actively strengthens trust and team identity. The results confirm that successful GVT management depends on balancing technology with human-focused practices.
