The susceptibility of natural assets and financial industries, including travel and tourism, is a complex concept influenced by many aspects. The focus of the thesis is on the climate vulnerability of tourism, which is one of those economic sectors that is mostly exposed to changes in climatic elements, as it is closely linked to geographical locations and physical factors.This topic aligns with the growing trend of sustainable tourism development, which is number one among the topic interests. I selected this topic as it provides valuable insights into how climate change influences tourist choices, offering guidance for travellers and businesses to adjust to evolving preferences. The research questions are the following: ·How is climate change affecting tourism patterns in vulnerable destinations such as coastal regions, islands, or mountain resorts? ·How is climate change affecting seasonal tourism? ·How do changing weather patterns influence tourist behaviour and the demand for tourism in climate-sensitive areas? The thesis's main objective was to inspect climate change's role on tourism, with a particular focus on vulnerable destinations such as coastal areas, islands, mountain resorts, and cultural heritage sites. Through a combination of comprehensive literature review and quantitative research, the study explores how climate change is affecting tourism patterns, traveller behaviour, and the long-term viability of destinations that are particularly susceptible to environmental disruption. The thesis concludes by emphasising that tourism is both a contributor to and a casualty of climate change. For the industry to remain viable in the long term, a fundamental transformation is necessary from national authorities, international organisations and private citizens too. As the writer, I define this as my main guideline tooutline potential directions for future research. However, exploring it in depth would require significantly more detailed quantitative research, involving a larger and more representative sample to ensure broader applicability of the findings. Overall, this thesis provides a nice contribution to the academic discourse on tourism and climate change, both from a literary and practical aspect. It underscores the urgency of addressing environmental challenges within the tourism sector, not only to safeguard destinations but also to evolve a more conscious and resilient model of global travel in the future.
