This thesis investigates the extent to which Chinese language and cultural education prepare foreign professionals to effectively engage with East Asian business practices, with a particular emphasis on the concept of guanxi. Using qualitative interviews, it explores motivations for language acquisition, the value of cultural immersion, and the role of experience in developing meaningful professional relationships. The findings offer insights for improving language programs and business training.
