Absztrakt (kivonat)

A key purpose of this thesis is to discover how financial literacy is made up and the most effective approaches for its development. Financial literacy is an essential skill in the current increasingly complex financial landscape, yet levels of financial knowledge and competency vary significantly across different population groups. My thesis uses a structured analysis combining theoretical insights and empirical research. The literature review begins with the conceptual definitions of financial literacy and continues with related aspects such as financial wellbeing, behavior, cognitive biases, and attitudes. I then present international development strategies, including OECD surveys and guidelines, as well as practical initiatives. The second half of my thesis presents the results of the own research, organized into sections covering demographics, financial education, behavior, attitudes, and conceptual understanding. The final chapters include the overall conclusion, a summary of limitations, and suggestions for further applications of my research.
