Absztrakt (kivonat)

Transportation as its own is responsible for many jobs and provides opportunities for many workers around the globe. Freight transportation has come a long way since its first introduction, it employs millions of people around the world, while being unavoidable in our daily lives and supply chains. The distribution itself of transportation system varies, road transportation dominates most countries in terms of land transport but is usually shy of the quantity of ocean freight in most countries which have one or multiple ports. With global warming and many plans and goals for a more sustainable environment, road transportation and the whole supply chain must adapt. In our recent days, with the Covid-19 striking the world, many companies adapted to digital and AI driven technologies to stay in a competitive position. Many countries introduced quotas and plans, including labor laws, environmental and economic regulations. To battle global warming, companies and governments must strive for more ecological options, leaving negligible amounts of carbon emissions and environmental footprints. A new, sustainable energy source and fuel type is needed in transportation, which leaves a big part of the world's carbon emissions. What will be the future for companies and the road freight transportation industry is the main aim of this research, focusing on Grundfos as a company and its green initiatives.
