Absztrakt (kivonat)
This thesis is devoted to the analysis of the impact of labor migration flows on political sentiment and the labor market in Poland. Particular attention is paid to migration flows from neighboring countries, primarily Ukraine and Belarus, and their role in shaping public perceptions of migration, transforming political discourse and supporting economic growth. The thesis also examines Poland's transformation from a traditional country of emigration - where citizens have been leaving for decades in search of better working conditions - into a popular new destination for immigrants. This transition has become particularly noticeable in the last 10-15 years and has had a significant impact on domestic politics and the labor market. The study relies on key approaches to explain international migration, including neoclassical theory, the historical-structural approach, and migration systems theory. Macro and microeconomic approaches are also briefly mentioned as a methodological framework for the analysis. This allows not only to reflect the economic and social aspects of migration, but also to understand how these processes influence the perception of migration by society and the state. The aim of the study is to identify how labor migration affects public opinion and political processes in Poland. In particular, it examines differences in attitudes towards migrants depending on their origin in the context of the 2015 events and towards East Slavic migrants. The paper demonstrates that the cultural and geographical proximity of migrants directly influences public and political reactions. The methodology combines the analysis of statistical data and demographic trends with a qualitative study of political discourse, including political party rhetoric, media images of migrants and electoral behavior. A brief comparison with other post-socialist countries in the region is also made to highlight the uniqueness of the Polish case. The results show that labor migration contributes to mitigating the demographic crisis and sustaining economic activity. At the same time, it becomes an object of political debate, especially in pre-election periods. The peculiarity of Poland lies in the dual reaction of society: positive perception of migrants from some countries is combined with wariness towards migrants from other regions. Thus, Poland is an illustrative example of a post-socialist country going from an emigration model to an immigration model. This requires a flexible and balanced migration policy, strengthening integration programs and political responsibility in public rhetoric. The paper concludes with a number of practical recommendations aimed at reducing social tensions and preserving the economic benefits of labor migration.
