The thesis "Digital and Online Marketing Communication in the Music Industry" explores the transformative effects of digital marketing on the music industry, focusing on how artists connect with their audiences in an evolving digital environment. By examining social media platforms, streaming services, and fan communities, the study highlights the shift from traditional to digital marketing strategies and their implications for fan engagement and artist branding.Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research combines an in-depth case study of DJ Parafa, a successful Hungarian artist, and a survey targeting music fans. Key findings underscore the importance of authenticity, consistency, and fan-focused strategies in fostering artist-fan connections. Fans value personalized, behind-the-scenes content and interactions that feel genuine, emphasizing trust and relatability. However, challenges such as content oversaturation, algorithmic barriers, and the complexities of audience targeting demand innovative approaches.The study offers actionable insights for artists and marketers, advocating for data-driven strategies, leveraging fan communities, and balancing authenticity with strategic content planning. By addressing the unique opportunities and challenges of the digital age, this thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of music marketing's role in shaping the industry's future.
