Absztrakt (kivonat)

Singapore and Hungary are both globalising economies with diverse cultural influences. Still, their business cultures are likely to exhibit significant differences due to their unique trajectories, perspectives, societal norms, and economic structures. The analysis will cover key cultural dimensions that distinguish the business practices of each country by utilising cultural models. The researcher assumes that these cultural differences will manifest in areas such as leadership and negotiation styles, decision-making processes, business etiquette, and communication norms. The thesis aims to comprehensively understand Singapore and Hungary by offering context on key factors such as population, ethnic and religious groups, and their COVID-19 recovery plans. It will also explore economic performance indicators such as GDP, ease of doing business score, and attitude towards digitalisation and green technologies. In addition to assessing existing literature concepts on the topic, the interviews with business professionals will investigate how intercultural challenges can be overcome, providing valuable insights into the nuances of business cultures in both countries. The study's main objective is to improve the effectiveness of cross-cultural business operations. It emphasises the crucial role of understanding and respecting cultural differences in conducting business interactions in diverse cultural contexts, ensuring that such interactions are productive and fruitful. Last but not least, it provides business professionals with some necessary tools and knowledge to navigate the complexities of intercultural business effectively. By following such an approach, businesses can develop stronger relationships with their international partners and achieve sustainable growth.
