Absztrakt (kivonat)
This thesis explores the role of digital diplomacy and media framing within the ongoing Israel-Palestine conflict, a significant and persistent geopolitical challenge. Employing a qualitative analysis of online content, specifically tweets from the Israeli and Palestinian foreign ministries, this study investigates how both entities utilize digital platforms to construct and disseminate their national narratives to a global audience. The analysis reveals divergent strategies in the digital portrayal of the conflict, where Israel’s diplomatic efforts focus on legitimizing its defensive measures and humanitarian efforts, while the Palestinian approach emphasizes the humanitarian crises and injustices faced due to the conflict. Through framing theory, the thesis examines how these digital narratives influence international public opinion and foreign policy, contributing to a nuanced understanding of digital diplomacy’s impact on global perceptions and policy-making. The findings suggest that digital diplomacy serves as a powerful tool in shaping international discourse, offering both opportunities and challenges for conflict resolution and policy advocacy in global politics. This research underscores the need for an informed approach to digital diplomacy, advocating for strategies that enhance dialogue and understanding in international relations.
