Absztrakt (kivonat)
This thesis explores the intersection of supply chain management and sustainability, with a particular focus on Schneider Electric's Zero Carbon Project. As environmental concerns rise and climate change accelerates, businesses face a growing pressure to adopt sustainable practices. Supply chains, with their extensive reach and numerous actors, contribute significantly to greenhouse gas emissions. Innovative approaches are needed to minimize carbon footprints while ensuring the resilience of international business operations. This research examines how initiatives like the Zero Carbon Project provide a framework for achieving carbon neutrality within supply chains, a critical step towards a low-carbon economy. The work's relevance lies in its exploration of key strategies for reducing carbon emissions within supply chains, a topic crucial for businesses, policymakers, and the environment. The research aims to develop knowledge in sustainable supply chain management and offer practical guidance for companies and decision-makers seeking to promote sustainability within the global economy and in alignment with the Zero Carbon Project. This objective is achieved by:• Reviewing existing research on sustainable supply chains and the Zero Carbon Project.• Analyzing the methods employed in the Zero Carbon Project and evaluating their effectiveness.• Identifying challenges and opportunities associated with the project's implementation.• Providing actionable recommendations for businesses and policymakers based on the research findings. The research question investigates the contribution of the Zero Carbon Project to supply chain sustainability within the international business landscape. It further explores the key challenges, opportunities, and implications arising from its implementation.Through a comprehensive literature review, data collection, analysis, and interviews with key stakeholders, the research aims to deepen understanding of the Zero Carbon Project and its role in driving sustainable practices within global supply chains. This knowledge will be valuable for businesses seeking to operate in a sustainable manner and policymakers working towards a low-carbon future.
