What the thesis is about (objectives): From a social viewpoint: The existence and evolution of trash goes together with human history. Even if people themselves don’t realize it has always been around us from the beginning of times. The media is widely influenced by trash culture, especially in modern times. Nowadays content is mainly about quantity and not quality. Many people have successfully managed to build a career and make a living thanks to trash. The focus is on 3 Hungarian influencers: Irén Varga Jázmin Selyem Merci & Jutka International examples: Social media Influencers How humanity has changed over the decades From a personal viewpoint: What intrigues me the most, is just how much trash ahs become a part of our lives, and is the demand for it the reason why it even exists? During my life, I have been influenced a lot by trash and I know several people who are similar, so this topic is close to me. Research question: Main research question: Is the existence of trash culture, and the people's demand for it a never-ending cycle? Sub-questions: How long has trash been a part of humanity? Does the existence of trash influence our everyday lives? Hypothesis: I think that because trash culture has become so ingrained into modern humanity, we have entered an endless cycle due to demand. If you observe closely, most modern media outlets prioritize quantity over quality, and purposefully make their product more dumbed-down. This phenomenon is further reinforced by the rise of trash social media influencers.
