Absztrakt (kivonat)

In the late 20th century, the emergence of dark tourism captivated the tourism industry, drawing visitors to sites marked by tragedy and human suffering. While this phenomenon continues to gain traction, there remains a notable research gap regarding its intersection with women's history. This study aims to address this gap by investigating the role of women in dark tourism destinations, particularly those associated with war and conflict. This study explores the complex experiences of women impacted by historical disasters using qualitative research techniques, such as interviews with survivors and stakeholders at memorial sites. The purpose of using open-ended questions in the research is to encourage frank conversations and extract diverse viewpoints.By conducting this investigation, the study not only clarifies the frequently disregarded part that women play in dark tourism, but it also advances discussions about gender perspectives in society and the celebration of women's history. The ultimate goal of this study is to improve our knowledge of the connections between dark tourism and accounts of women's experiences during times of war and conflict, as well as its implications for tribute and education.
