Absztrakt (kivonat)

In my thesis, I investigated the impact of the introduction of smart gas meters on domestic gas distributors and residential consumers' energy consumption. I chose this topic because I started working for a company where digital development and research are a top priority. The company places more and more emphasis on the invention of new technologies and the further development of existing ones. The more I got to know the work processes and the related tasks and administration, the more I became interested in the market introduction of smart meters and their impact on the economy. As I got closer to choosing the topic for my thesis, it became increasingly clear to me that I wanted to work on this topic. This topic targets a very relevant part of today's world, digitalization. During my research, among the quantitative research methods, I placed great emphasis on the questionnaire method, as I wanted to conduct a survey among the population on the assessment of the introduction of smart meters. Among the qualitative methods, I chose the interview, because I wanted to get to know the thoughts and opinions of experts in this field. In my thesis, I am looking for an answer to the question of what obstacles the introduction of the intelligent/smart metering system in Hungary may encounter, and how receptive the Hungarian population is to this. My other question to be answered is what effect this process can have on the domestic economy. I wanted to collect information on this topic by examining the opinions of professionals working in the gas industry and household consumers. If the initial investment costs could be financed, there would still be plenty of time until the 2050 green transition. The population's energy- and environment-conscious behavior could be significantly strengthened, the willingness to do so is also confirmed by the answers given in the questionnaires on this topic. My research achieved its goal, my assumption that the smart gas measurement system has a right to exist in the Hungarian energy industry was confirmed, and the population is open to energy- and environmentally conscious behavior.
