The study delves into the dynamics of the Hungarian legislative and tax systems, examining how they drive the imperative for accountants to embrace digital tools. A detailed analysis of various Hungarian accounting programs follows, each claiming to enhance efficiency and alleviate the burdens on accountants. Through an exploration of the legislative and tax-related pressures, the thesis sheds light on the contextual backdrop against which accountants navigate the digital landscape. To gauge the real-world impact of digitalization on accountants' daily operations, a questionnaire was administered. The results revealed a spectrum of perspectives, with some accountants expressing enthusiasm for the efficiencies brought about by digital tools, while others vehemently opposed the idea. The mixed responses underscore the complexity of the relationship between accountants and digitalization, prompting further investigation into the nuanced factors influencing these attitudes. Ultimately, this thesis contributes to the ongoing discourse surrounding the intersection of accounting, technology, and human factors. By examining the tangible effects of digitalization on the professional lives of Hungarian accountants, it provides valuable insights for policymakers, software developers, and accounting professionals seeking to optimize the integration of digital tools within the field.
