I wanted to write my thesis on a topic that already interested me and deals with increasingly popular and current issues these days.This topic is not only important to us, but also the future generations, and our acts may influence their lives in the future. We can see ourselves that a lot of things happen in our world, and it is our duty to prevent problems that have not yet occurred. In my opinion not only our acts and habits as individuals but also the company’s state of mine is just as important if not more.Corporate Social Responsibility is a topic that gained a lot of attention lately. It’s no accident, as we can see that our Earth is constantly changing and not necessarily in a good direction. Nowadays, more and more large companies are concerned with this topic, and think that it is their duty to deal with social responsibility. I think they do this well, since people often adopt the habits of their company, so the company’s behaviour can be a good guide for their employees. In addition, job seekers often tend to choose a company with which they can identify.In my opinion this topic is very important, because with CSR companies can cooperate in solving environmental and social problems. I chose the company Nestlé because I have been working by the company for 1,5 years. I think that the company is very employee focused, and this is the nicest company I’ve ever worked for. I work as a Sales trainee, and I truly feel appreciated and enjoy working together. I like not only the company’s attitude towards its employees, but also the way they approach world problems and issues. In my view, they are fully engaged in dealing with the problems affecting the world.In the first part of my thesis, I introduce Corporate Social Responsibility. First, I write about the definition of CSR, then the history of it, how it was formed and what processes it went through. In the following I also mention the CSR’s situation and formation in Europe, and in Hungary. Then, I write about the areas, tools, and instruments of CSR and the 5 principles of it. After this, I start to introduce the company itself, Nestlé. I write about how it was formed, what is its history and then I’m moving to the Hungarian part. Later, I show Nestlé Hungary’s business principles, the mission of Nestlé and the CSR activities of it. Finally, I will come to the research part. In my primer research I used quantitative method. I used questionnaire, and because I examine a Hungarian company the target group of the questionnaire is created by domestic consumers. In one hand the purpose of this study is to get a deeper knowledge of how Nestlé communicates their CSR initiatives. On the other hand, I also want to examine how does corporate social responsibility influence consumer decisions.During my thesis, I examined the social responsibility of companies, including Nestlé.Nowadays companies pay more and more attention to their CSR activities, because they found out, that it not only influences our planet, but also consumers, and who are affected by their operation. I highlighted Nestlé, and their activities.
