This research aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the advantages and disadvantages of renewable energy in general and its application in Syria in particular. The economic impact that could occur if we partially switched to alternative energy was discussed to compensate for the electrical shortage in the public network, supply all regions with electricity, and export the surplus to neighboring countries. Possible places for implementing such projects were discussed, especially in the eastern regions for solar energy plants and the central region for wind energy turbines. Methods of financing these projects were also discussed, compared with neighboring countries, and conclusions were drawn. It was found that there is a possibility of financing them locally, but it will require some time to start working on them and investing in them, but they will have a significant impact on the future of the country and its prosperity, increasing national income, and supplying the state’s public treasury with the foreign currencies that it currently has. I desperately need it right now. The state's policy and the financial and regulatory support it provides were also discussed, especially with regard to updating current laws and issuing new laws and decrees related to the issue of alternative energy, the possibility of establishing wind energy projects, facilitating and organizing the work of investors in Syria, and helping them implement renewable energy projects. The potential social and economic benefit was also mentioned in the event of implementing alternative energy projects and their impact on citizens, reducing the unemployment rate and moving the economy forward. Three interviews (preliminary research) were also conducted with people in direct contact with the issue of energy in Syria, and the types of existing power stations were explained, how they operate, the possibility of continuing to operate in them, the possibility of linking them with alternative energy projects if they are implemented, and the method of delivering them to homes locally and selling the surplus energy. Energy out. The method of obtaining a loan from civil associations and organizations and the procedures related to obtaining a loan for alternative energy were also explained, and the facilities provided by organizations to citizens for self-reliance in the production of electrical energy were discussed, as it is the basis for carrying out commercial activities and continuing life in areas that only receive electricity. What is rare? The current research will help measure the progress achieved by Syria in addition to identifying other areas for improvement, highlighting areas of weakness, trying to explain their causes, and making some suggestions in order to overcome these obstacles and try to avoid them in the coming period, but as a complete compilation of the state’s policies, it can also serve as a basis For further research or comparisons, Finally, as a Syrian student, I would like to express my sincere hope that this research will prove its importance for the still developing sustainable energy industry in my country, which has suffered greatly due to recent local and global circumstances but which I hope will flourish again with the help of good academics, policy makers, and development providers. sustainable development, local communities, and international partners.
