Absztrakt (kivonat)
The dissertation of mine puts its focus on the effectiveness of the previous, settled programming period of the National Rural Development Programme (Programme) by the European Union especially in the light of the Priority 4 and the Priority 5 set by the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture, reflected in the whole country and with special attention to the Northern region of Hungary. As for my research question, I would like to investigate how these proposals contributed to the economic development of the rural area and whether the expectations set before 2014 were met or not. I would like to find out in what ways were the Common Agricultural Policy successful, how it could contribute to the better life-circumstances and environment of the locals. We can notice that the topic of sustainability is constantly in the headlines in today's media world and appears in many official articles too. There are many sources to work with, when researching this topic, because it has a high relevance. I also chose this topic because it fits into the circle of my personal interests to practice sustainability or to observe the innovative solutions in different areas of the world. We should know the environment around us. In today’s world fortunately we can encounter environmental protection more and more ways in almost all areas of our lives. For instance, in recycling and waste management, in forestry or, in this case, in agriculture and the food industry. Renovation costs a lot, so application of the calls for tenders could be a way for a lot of small- and medium sized enterprises to be able to better meet today’s expectations. According to my vision, we should always strive to take further steps towards sustainability at our level and find new ways to relocate and rethink our actions if those could be more environmentally friendly or practical in that way. I also value the analysation of the impact of our actions on our goals and strive for the better, because that is the only way we can see the progress. Aside from the individual actions we take to preserve the beauty of our environment and our health, it is also inevitable to learn about the political and economic factors that has a positive or negative impact on the area. In addition to this, my curiosity also led me to write my paper about the various agricultural proposals in the region in which I grew up. I wanted to take a look of how this part of the country gained and developed over the last approximately ten years. I wanted to expand my knowledge of my immediate surroundings, where I live daily, rather than researching a completely different topic that has nothing to do with myself. I have also been interested in the European Union since my high school days. I was a member of the winner team in a competition, which was organized by the EU and the prize was the opportunity to visit the Parliament in Strasbourg, which was a memorable experience for me. Regarding the methodology, I will use mainly qualitative methods for both my primer and my secondary research. The reason for this lies in the characteristics of the chosen topic. I have the opportunity, to conduct two in-depth interviews with professional individuals, who are experts in this field in Hungary. Both of them are working in high positions in the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Zsolt Lénárt is first interviewee, who is the Head of the Resource Management Department in the Ministry, and the second is Attila Nagy, who is the Head of the Common Agricultural Policy Coordination Department in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. In my opinion, these people have one of the best insights into this specific topic I chose, and I feel honoured to have the opportunity to conduct interviews with them. Additionally, to the primary research I mentioned, I also prepared secondary research based on various offline and online literature. I use for instance official presentations and statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and several online academic papers, which I discuss and present further in the dissertation’s research plan
