ABSTRACTMPESA, one of the innovations ofmobile technology, mobile banking, has been created and accepted worldwide.MPESA a mobile banking application, has expanded rapidly accounting for asizable percentage of the country's mobile transfer market. The criticalquestion is whether Kenyans' enthusiastic adoption of MPESA led to incentivessuch as community-based rehabilitation and sustainability projects, elevatingindividuals who contributed to MPESA's development. The study examines how MPESAoperates, its adoption and sustainability techniques used in Kenya, customers’perceptions of MPESA, and the effect of MPESA on Kenya's micro- andmacroeconomic environments. The study’s research design was a descriptivesurvey. The intended audience in Kenya consisted of all MPESA users. The studyemployed a sample of 70 MPESA users. Simple random sampling was used to choosethe sample. For one month, data were gathered online using a google surveyquestionnaire. The reliability and validity of the research instrument wereestablished by a pilot study involving 7 MPESA users. Google and MicrosoftExcel were used for data analysis. Means, standard deviations, and percentageswere used to analyse the data. Tables, pie charts, and graphs were used to presentthe results. According to the findings, most Kenyans were aware of MPESA andutilized it to send and receive money. Also, it was revealed that MPESAsignificantly impacts Kenyans' lives, with 66% indicating that it saves them ontime. The study also found that the infiltration of fraudsters and scammers isone of the biggest challenges. It is advised that mobile banking transferservices be exponentially increased to support economic growth in Kenya andelsewhere. Further research is needed using primary and secondary data sourcesto better understand how other mobile money transfer services affect Kenya'seconomy.
