<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:left;"></p><p>This thesis aims to contribute to the identification of the reasons for differences in innovation performance between the regions of Hungary and the Czech Republic. The aspect studied is policy. A comparison of the public sector activities and strategies, the organizational and legislative framework of the system are presented and compared. The thesis is divided into three main parts: regional policy, regional innovation systems, and smart specialization strategies. Each chapter involves a theoretical part introducing the concept, and a practical part presenting the analysis in Hungary and the Czech Republic.</p><br><p></p>
