<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:left;"></p><p>The present study aims to analyse the responses from the UNHCR in Hungary, as well as the European Union and Hungarian government during the 2015 “Syrian” and the 2022 Ukrainian refugee crises. We intend to provide a comparison between the crisis-handling actions of both periods and deliver an analysis on which aspects could be improved in order to generate a more effective response. To be able to understand the responses from the UNHCR in Hungary, we may not avoid assessing the factors that influenced them and consider the multiple actors that shaped the political environment of the given events. For this reason, we navigate through the historical background of the conflicts, implemented policies, directives, legal frameworks and humanitarian efforts to tackle the given refugee crises.</p><br><p></p>
