Absztrakt (kivonat)

<p dir="ltr" style="text-align: left;">This paper provides an analysis on how Kühne+Nagel managed to reorganize its operations and whether it was successful, and the company could profit in the end, or it was a complete failure. The methods of the analysis include the review of various articles and research conducted in this topic furthermore, additional information was gathered through an interview with Attila Medve, business manager at Kühne+Nagel. The findings show that the company was heavily impacted by past events, namely, the COVID 19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine. During the pandemic period, the company made huge profits as all other companies did in the same sector, this was due to the extremely high freight rates and container prices. However, the situation completely changed after the war broke out. Freight rates and container prices started to drop, meanwhile, the sanctions on Russia also had impact on the company. Due to the pressure from the public many companies decided to suspend or completely cease operations in Russia. Kühne+Nagel was no different in that regard. The company reorganised its operations to Hungary as there was already an existing branch here. The Russian branch was sold to the local business managers in deal that was concluded extremely quickly, with all its advantages and disadvantages. Operations were up and running again in just a few months, and also new systems and solutions were implemented for the new set up, which made operations more efficient and smoother. All in all, Kühne+Nagel completed the reorganization successfully and managed to even profit from the situation.<br></p>
