Abstract

Thepurpose of my thesis is to compare Germany’s, as a developed country, andHungary’s indices focusing on the Happy Planet Index (HPI) and the HumanDevelopment Index (HDI), search for the differences and make a research aboutwhy is Germany standing in a higher place in the rankings. What are the causesand the differences. Mygoal is to understand and make a research about how different types of citizenssee the given countries’ (Hungary and Germany) macroeconomic measurements (HappyPlanet Index and Human Development Index) and why does the two spokencountries’ ranking are different.
