Absztrakt (kivonat)

The paper discusses the measures of the European Union (EU) regarding cybersecurity and the need for international cooperation to address online challenges. The EU has launched several initiatives to strengthen international cooperation regarding cyberspace and to deal with the latest challenges. The paper presents the legislative measures, tools, methods by which the EU and its Member States cooperate to strengthen the security of cyberspace. The challenges related to cyberspace, both within and beyond the EU, are discussed in detail, and the measures that the EU has taken to improve online security are presented. The thesis also examines the extent to which the current approach has contributed to strengthening the security of cyberspace with international partners like the United Nations (UN), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the United States (US), and US multinational companies. The paper suggests that effective cooperation and coordination among the EU and its international partners regarding cybersecurity is crucial to protect EU citizens and the integrity of digital infrastructure all around the world. The paper draws data from primary and secondary sources, including official legal documents of the EU, the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, the UN, NATO, US authorities, scientific research, and reviews by professionals working in this field. The thesis concludes that the limitations of this study only focused on the main and most significant partners of the EU, and future research could extend the investigation to other countries and organizations.
