This research thesis examines the concept of ethnocultural tourism in Kazakhstan, which refers to tourism that is based on the cultural heritage of the Central Asia. Kazakhstan is a country with a rich and diverse cultural heritage, nevertheless with more than 130 different ethnic groups living within its borders. And this does not prevent these cultures from developing together with the Kazakh heritage. Ethnocultural tourism is seen as a potential tool for economic development, as it can help to promote cultural understanding and create jobs in rural areas. The work discusses the challenges and opportunities associated with developing ethnocultural tourism in Kazakhstan, including issues related to infrastructure, marketing, and community involvement. Ultimately, the work argues that ethnocultural tourism has the potential to be a key driver of sustainable economic growth in Kazakhstan, while also promoting cultural preservation and understanding. To develop ethnocultural tourism in Kazakhstan, it is important to consider the specific needs and interests of locals, as well as the needs of tourists. Infrastructure development is also essential, such as the creation of visitor centers and the improvement of transportation links to rural areas. Marketing efforts should target niche markets interested in cultural tourism and should focus on promoting authentic and unique cultural experiences. Community involvement is also critical in the development of ethnocultural tourism. Local communities should be engaged in the planning and implementation of tourism initiatives and should be empowered to benefit from tourism in a sustainable and equitable manner. This can involve providing training and resources to local entrepreneurs and ensuring that tourism revenues are reinvested in the local economy.

Overall, ethnocultural tourism has the potential to provide significant economic benefits to Kazakhstan while also preserving and promoting the country’s rich cultural heritage. However, it is important to develop tourism in a way that is sustainable, respectful of local cultures, and beneficial to local communities. With careful planning and implementation, ethnocultural tourism can be a powerful tool for promoting economic development, cultural preservation, and understanding in Kazakhstan.
