<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:left;"><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us">Uruguay is a South American country known for its various tourist attractions, such as picturesque beaches, historic cities, vineyards, and nature reserves. The tourism industry in Uruguay heavily relies on its extensive coastline, which boasts over 660 kilometers of white sandy beaches, making it a popular destination for “sun and beach” tourists. Among the most prominent of these destinations is Punta del Este,</span><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us"> </span><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us">a coastal city that has experienced tremendous growth in tourism over the years.</span><span style="font-size:1rem;"> Punta del Este</span><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us"> is the country's second most visited tourist destination and plays a significant role in the country's economy. While tourism has had a positive impact on the city's economy by generating employment and business opportunities for locals, it has also caused negative effects, such as the loss of natural spaces, traffic congestion, and seasonal declines in income. Uruguay has placed a strong emphasis on promoting sustainable tourism practices to preserve its natural resources while promoting responsible travel</span><span style="font-size:1rem;">. </span><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us">The importance of Punta del Este as a tourist center and the new trend in Uruguay in promoting sustainable tourism, has established the study of this thesis, the tourist seasonality of Punta del Este and the state strategies focused on the diversification of the tourist offer of the destination.</span><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us"> </span><span lang="en-us" style="font-size:1rem;" xml:lang="en-us">The manner in which tourism evolves in Punta del Este has a crucial impact on the economy, society, and environment of Uruguay.</span></p><br><p></p>
