The development of the tourism industry plays a prominent role in Vietnam’s economic growth. From the first day tourism was established until the present, the rate of tourist influx growth has accelerated significantly. This means that there will be increased demand for lodging, transportation, and other relevant categories. If the host nation fails to preserve the natural environment of the destination due to the intensity of these activities, severe consequences will effect the long-term viability of the entire industry, if not the entire economy. The previous research scarcely examined the attitudes and behaviors of the new, rapidly expanding generation Z of travelers. By conducting secondary research, various perspectives and hypotheses regarding the characteristics of this generational cohort and its sustainability-oriented attitudes and behaviors, as well as environmental impacts and sustainability, will be discussed, laying the groundwork for the research. By providing diverse survey results of primary research and analyzing those data, the research questions are answered and the paper's purpose is attained. Overall, all sample members have a profound respect for the significance of a sustainable natural environment at the destination, although their attitudes and behaviors vary across environmental protection categories and their concern for each varies as well. The research also aims to compile all potential solutions from respondents' response that could be effective for organizations and related entities to deal with this generation. Finally, the study provides recommendations for stakeholders based on the collected results.
