<p dir="ltr" style="text-align:left;"></p><p>Adventure tourism is a growing segment of nature-based tourism that involves activities in undisturbed natural environments. This includes high-risk activities such as rock climbing, which has not been fully explored as an adventure tourism product in Hungary. Research in this area is necessary to promote the culture of rock climbing in a sustainable way and to determine its potential as an adventure tourism product. After a thorough review of the existing literature the study used a mixed-methods approach to gain a better understanding of the history and culture of rock climbing in Hungary and the Hungarian climbing community. The research aimed to provide an overview of the topic from different perspectives and to identify the needs, motivation, and demands of people interested in the sport. </p> <p>The research concludes that rock climbing has real potential as an adventure tourism product in Hungary, with a high level of interest from both current and potential climbers. The sport has the potential to contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in Hungary and also reveals that rock climbing has real socio-economic potential. </p><br><p></p>
