Absztrakt (kivonat)

The society not just simply decides to hate their bodies. The industry teaches them to. First of all, after you read this thesis, I ask you just to stop for a minute and look around on the streets. Or, if not, I will tell you what would you see. Extreme differences between bodytypes, mentally unhealthy society with anxiety, depression. The influencing of women is not a new marketing tool in the commerce section, it has been present ever since the word 'business' is alive. But to have an influence or pressure on the whole society or genders, that is a new problem. Nowadays, this impact is getting worse and worse, since influencer marketing became a very popular method to use. It is clearly visible for everyone that the number of individuals living distressed, depressed and anxious because of their own body-shame is just frightfully increasing. First, professionals make them feel that there is something wrong with them. Something wrong with their bodyshape, with their face, or with their style. Then they convince them to change themselves, and that is the point where the vicious circle begins. In this world people have such a short time to care about themselves either mentally or phisically, that they easily jump into that trap and they will never be satisfied with their bodies nor with their life. Women are always dieting and focusing on sports – if it is not working – then they are trying to acquire more wealth so they can lie under a plastic surgeon’s hands to reach an image that is not even looking like a mortal’s body. If you ask a men, mostly they will say that they are going to the gym minimum 3 times a week. Yes, body image disorders reached men as well. They want to look more muscular, more masculine. It is not that rare or special at a plastic surgery that they ask for fake muscles like fake abs and fake chest muscles. Also, men started to worry more about balding, so often, they are going for hair restoration. At my point of view, I am mostly worried about these adults children. Children do not have a fixed image of the world when they are young. They can be easily manipulated and it is not also an effect of the media, it is also a problem from the side of the family, because these mothers and fathers will only encourage their child to diet or worse, they will bully them to look thinner as they are doing it to themselves too. So, as I am studying marketing, with the absolute interest of consumer sociology and consumer behaviour I immediately started to think about: what if this whole, huge advertising community does this with us That is what I want to research, and maybe I can enlight your eyes as well, that we are stepping into a really unhealthy world.
