Absztrakt (kivonat)

Covid-19 was not only threat to the human life but to the means of living and everyday life as well. Businesses were also in danger. Since the time when people get to know about this, the businesses and governments have put in extra hours to prepare for a worldwide epidemic. This pandemic has hurt people’s health and messed up their social lives in various ways. Since most global industries are interconnected, the business world is still reeling from the crisis’s direct and indirect effects. For the economy to grow, commerce and a stable business work-environment are very important. Education, transportation, and manufacturing are among the other global sectors that have been crippled by the pandemic. .All through history, there have been several times when things were not stable, which had a big effect on global trade. According to the IMF, there is a lot of information about how different crises in the past have affected \"businesses and economies\" all over the world, and COVID being one of the most important ones (IMF, 2020). Like many other worldwide tragedies in the past, the COVID-pandemic is still going on and is having serious effects on the everyday processes of companies of all sizes from around world. The aim of the research was also to know about the issues and hurdles these businesses faced during the Covid-19 in Pakistan. The research included small businesses such as restaurants, coffee shops and beauty salons. The research was supported by the questionnaire and it was sent out to the owners of these businesses. According to the finding, small businesses struggled a lot during the pandemic in Pakistan. The business which struggle the most was coffee shop business. Restaurants and beauty salons did well during the pandemic and they kept generating the revenue every month. Some of these small businesses were supported by government as well but still despite being supported financially some of these small businesses could not stand on their feet. Restaurant business was most successful during the time period because they already had a crisis management plan while coffee shops and beauty salon did not have any. Also coffee shops loses a lot and even they layoff their employee because of the insufficient money. About 28% of the restaurants did not used online platform to sell their products and those restaurants did not make that much of revenue. Around 10% of the coffee shops used the online platform to sell their products but around 90% of these shops did not used it and that is the reason coffee shops did not thrive well during the Covid-19. Beauty salon business did well because they keep advertising their products online and when the customer make appointment with them they went to customers houses to provide the services. Around 80% of the beauty salons used online platform while only 20% did not used it. The research was qualitative so for anyone doing the research on the same topic should include quantitative research method because that is more reliable and also future researchers can add more geographical area. They other scenario is that the future researchers can include the developed countries as well and they can compare the small businesses during Covid-19 in developed and developing countries and so that they can understand why small businesses are 46 thriving well in developed countries and developing countries can learn from them and can help their own country small businesses. It might be possible that in developed countries government supports their small businesses well and they have policies and regulation that helps these small businesses grow well. So, the future researchers should keep this point in their mind as well.
