Absztrakt (kivonat)

Foreign direct investment (FDI) is an essential mechanism for ensuring states' long-term economic development and strengthening their cooperation. The contemporary world economy's integration processes demonstrate that the evolution of local entities and individual countries is determined by the strengthening of international economic connections, particularly by rising mutual foreign direct investment. Foreign direct investment makes a significant contribution to the introduction of progressive technologies, project implementation, the expansion of business and investment capacities, the creation of new jobs, and a variety of other positive outcomes. Today, FDI is not the primary focus of the CIS countries' enhanced economic cooperation. The primary difficulties in FDI attraction within the CIS are: the absence of a uniform legal framework in the field of direct investment; bureaucracy, which leads to corruption crimes; complicated business constraints; low solvent demand of the population and stagnant financial market development. To strengthen economic cooperation and define the opportunities for further development in the CIS, it appears reasonable to conduct a detailed comparative analysis of the economies of the member countries in order to identify the main issues affecting their development. The profound development of foreign direct investment in the CIS nations is particularly significant as a potential route for upgrading their economic interaction, both among themselves and with other foreign countries. The methods of developing and attracting FDI require a comprehensive study, since they are in constant development and are an integral part of international economic relations. Thus, the topic is considered relevant  due to the high significance of the study of the foreign direct investment market to develop the modern economies of the CIS countries, as well as the establishment of relative recommendations with the goal of  FDI attraction for the further advancement of CIS cooperation between each other and investor countries. The methodological basis of the studies is a systemic, historical, and comparative approach. As for the data that is used for conducting the given research, it includes secondary qualitative and quantitative data in the descriptive method. Several economic models and approaches are used for analysis and investigation of countries’ economic states of development as well as the situation of the interactions inside the CIS organization. The information base for the research is regulatory documents, monographs, publications of relevant departments of the CIS countries, national banks’ official websites and data, foreign resources, and official statistics of organizations such as the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, the World Bank Group, and others. The primary objective of the research is to investigate the role and influence of foreign direct investments on the development of economic cooperation between the CIS countries. The main question of the research will be: What is the influence of the FDI on the development of economic cooperation between the CIS countries and their internal economic development? The given question could give us an overview how important FDI is for the economies of the emerging countries and how much it can enhance the development of the countries analyzed.
