The COVID-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on talent acquisition in Vietnamese luxury hotels. In this thesis, the author investigates how COVID-19 affected talent acquisition in the hospitality industry, particularly in Vietnamese luxury hotels. It also examines the talent acquisition response to COVID-19 used by Vietnamese luxury hotels during the most difficult period in the hospitality industry's history. Finally, the thesis investigates the lessons luxury hotels learned from the current crisis in Vietnam, which may be applicable in dealing with potential future situations. The methodology and research design adopted in the thesis uses qualitative methods. For the qualitative research, the author conducted open-ended virtual interview questions with the participation of employees who are currently working as HR managers of four to five-star hotels in Vietnam. Before the interview, the participants also received interview questions to have some first looks at the topic and have a good preparation for the interview The study shows that the Covid-19 pandemic had so many unexpected effects on talent acquisition strategy and processes that no HR managers had any backup plans in advance. It has been a difficult but also advantageous time for the HR departments of all Vietnamese luxury hotels, as they have been stuck with talent acquisition but have also had many opportunities to improve their workflow and devise new talent acquisition strategies to adapt to the crisis. As a result of the pandemic, all luxury hotels in Vietnam have learned many lessons that will be useful in future crises, and all HR managers are confident that the same situation will be handled better in the future.Keywords: talent acquisition, human resource, Covid-19, pandemic, crisis management.
