Absztrakt (kivonat)

Today, we are seeing a revolution in efficiency. From cosmetics to packaged foods and drinks, efficient design and function (i.e. light weighting packaging by switching from a glass jar to a plastic sachet) have become defining factors in the consumer goods sector. From a resource conservation standpoint (Zuzana, 2020), it makes perfect sense: less material used in product packaging means less trash in landfills. While efficiency in this way might be an excellent short-term approach for sustainability, the genuine long-term repercussions of these efficiency movements, particularly package light weighting, must also be considered.   Environmental protection is a subject and a way of life that I am passionate about. It all started when I moved out of my parents' house and realised I was unwilling to spend such a large amount of money on various detergents, and therefore sought out any conceivable way to avoid overpriced and synthetic cleaning products. My whole adventure began with homemade liquid detergent.   Sustainability is now one of the most highly contested topics. To increase global sustainability, all market actors (states, businesses, and consumers) must engage and collaborate. The circular economy is a new economic paradigm with an emphasis on environmental goals. The circular economy and its key principles are based on the notion that all consumable materials and products may be recycled to provide new sources of production and service provision. In a perfect environment, trash would cease to exist.
