Absztrakt (kivonat)

The aim of this thesis is to explore and provide suggestions on certain key questions of the topic, namely: What kind of relationship is there between cinemas, the movie industry, and the streaming market Has the increasing popularity of streaming services affected moviegoer habits, and the strategies of film studios If so, in what ways did the changes take effect In order to shed light on the details of this topic, several research methods are going to be employed. The secondary research part will involve the literature review section, which is necessary in order to establish a significant chunk of the basis of the primary research. It is also needed in order to conclude the thesis with relevant insights, and to be able to make thoughtful suggestions. This segment will use previous professional studies and articles written by others also interested in this or similar topic or topics. It is of key importance to get a hold of peer findings, on the one hand because it provides other points of view on the same topic, which can be refreshing for the thesis at hand; on the other hand, because one might never know if this topic was covered by others before. It is also necessary to assess previous research results and data because it provides critical information that may not be properly accessible in other ways. The literature review is also important, for among the examined previous studies one could find an interesting angle or a thread that was not considered before. This could provide a train of thought that might prove invaluable in seeing the big picture.
