Absztrakt (kivonat)
The development of tourism in smaller cities is just as important as it is in the capital, and it needs more recognition. In recent years several projects were happening to make the city of Kecskemét more advanced. Since I live and grew up in the chief town of the Bács-Kiskun county I am familiar with some of the changes that happened and with those yet to come. Carrying out in-depth research on the development of tourism in Kecskemét will show the quantity and quality of these innovations. My purpose is to support the tourism development of my hometown. The city has several opportunities to offer when it comes to tourism however most residents find Kecskemét touristically not attractive at all. Despite the carried-out projects, tourism in Kecskemét is still in its developing phase. More research is needed to analyze the most and least effective tools used in tourism development. An important detail that some studies miss is the role of residents’ place image, however, it is crucial to understand the importance of the positive or negative opinion of local people and how it affects tourism. The main purpose of my research will be to find an existing tourism product in Kecskemét, that can possibly be developed successfully according to the residents, and tourism specialists of the city. Specific Objectives: · to find out how city branding helps tourism development · to analyze the relationship between city branding and tourism development · to understand what image do local people have of tourism products in Kecskemét to examine the level of support residents provide for tourism development
