Throughout the 5,000 years long history of Chinese cuisine development, Chinese cuisine has become one of the greatest five cuisines in the world and played a significant role in the world gastronomy industry. The different climatic conditions and complicated natural geography of China have contributed to the diversity of regional cultures and had a significant impact on food culture. As a result, the numerous cuisines seen in different parts of China make up the distinctive features of Chinese cuisine. China's complex natural geographical environment, human history, and diverse climatic conditions have led to regional cultural diversity, which has had a profound impact on food culture. Among many cuisines and local cultures in China, they generally can be divided into Northern and Southern cultures. In the process of food culture development, different food cultures have caused cultural differences between the North and the South. The purpose of this thesis is an examination the differences in food culture between northern and southern China will have an impact on people's psychology, physical, and behavior. To analyze the differences from the perspectives of humanity, geography, history, economics, and tourism, and to evaluate the reasons that caused the differences. To think about Chinese food culture and give suggestions for the development of the gastronomy industry. The research questions will mainly focus on how the differences affect people on psychology, physical and behavioral sides, by examining the differences of daily living habits, consumption habits, holiday traditions, eating habits, physical characteristics, etc. Although food culture is a popular research topic, and there are many investigations on the differences between the food cultures of northern and southern China, the main results focus on geographical, historical, and human factors. The purpose of this paper is to fill in the research gap on the differences in food culture between northern and southern China and how they effect on local population. This paper mainly uses literature research, quantitative research, and questionnaire research methods. Through the questions relate to the living habits, consumption habits, festival traditions, eating habits, etc. of the residents of North and South China. The primary goal of this study is to investigate the effects of the South and North of China's disparate food cultures on people's physical, psychological, and behavioral well-being in light of the research gap described in the preceding paragraph. 390 individuals from North and South China were polled and summarized by the author. The psychological distinction between the various culinary cultures in the south and north of China is the key finding of this paper. In the north and south of China, diverse cuisine and living customs have developed as a result of climatic, geographical, and historical factors. The secondary finding of this paper is that the difference in dietary culture has also caused a large gap in height between the northern and southern people in China over time. The implication of this paper is to investigate the effect of the difference in food culture between the south and north of China on the psychological, physical, and behavioral aspects of people, and to provide more information on the study of the difference in Chinese food culture.
