Absztrakt (kivonat)
In this few-pages long dissertation, the reader is invited to the northern side of the Hungarian Balaton. After the capital, Balaton receives the second-highest number of tourists in Hungary. The very high attendance in the summer can be attributed to the wines, events, and winery events. People take part in programs for a variety of reasons, for example escaping from their daily routines, joining groups, entertainment purposes, and to spend time with their friends and family. Other motivators include opportunities for trying out local gastronomy and in this case, wines. The purpose of the research is to present the three different wine regions of the northern bank of the lake with the assistance of four local family-run wine companies, and compare them with respect to their wine days, weeks, festivals, events, wine tastings and extra programs from the same perspectives. It also aims to investigate wine consumption behaviour and demographics, for instance who and what age is the most impressionable, and what kind of performances are the most preferred. The research also targets to illustrate the most important winery events around the region based on personal experience, literature materials and the questionnaire created for the thesis. With the assistance of literature review, several books, journals, online websites were examined, hence the chance was provided for me to broaden and deepen my current knowledge about wines, wine tourism, and wineries of the Balaton region. From supply side, these local family-run wineries were analysed. From demand side with the help of interviews and questionnaires, the motivation, and wine consumption behaviour, the composition of foreign and Hungarian guests was examined.
