Absztrakt (kivonat)

Financial technologies (fintech) have seen significant segments, attracting investments in the billions of dollars. Fintech is the union of money and technology that imposes a new way of thinking on the financial industry. This study's primary objective is to evaluate how financial technology influences payment behaviour, especially among Lao National University students. The proposal to change the Lao People's Democratic Republic from a landlocked to a land-linked economy would impact the banking and financial industries and other industrial sectors. The banking sector and policy advocacy are tightly linked. Therefore, financial services using modern financial technology will always be accessible in this industry, regardless of whether established commercial banks or startup conglomerates provide them. This industry makes economic transactions more economical, straightforward, and practical. Traditional financial services, such as transacting at the bank counter or using an ATM for several transactions, provide trust to clients. When new financial technology is readily available, it will be able to serve a more significant number of individuals. The behaviour of consumers towards financial services will alter. As a result of introducing new financial technologies, consumer payments have changed significantly. In exchange for cash, customers increasingly use debit cards, credit cards, online banking, mobile banking, and electronic wallets as their primary mode of payment. Based on these previous alterations, this study examines how financial technology affects the payment behaviour of clients. What considerations influenced the decision to pay using financial technology instead of cash. Students from the National University of Laos will serve as a sample group for financial technology knowledge and understanding. The principal objective of this research is to evaluate the effect of financial technology on shifting payment behaviours. Additionally, investigate the students' knowledge and comprehension of financial technology at the National University of Laos and the variables that impact their choice to utilise financial technology instead of cash. By anticipating and understanding the influence of financial technology on the payment behaviour of the sample. Capable of analysing the level of financial technology knowledge and comprehension among students at the National University of Laos, hence facilitating the development of strategies and activities to enhance students' financial technology competence. The theoretical and conceptual frameworks for analysing the influence of financial technology on corporate payment behaviour are divided into five areas. These include the notion of money, its functions and characteristics, Keynes' monetary theory, and the evolution of payment systems. In addition to cash, the current payment method also takes electronic payments. Payment-related technologies include debit cards, credit cards, top-up cards, internet banking, electronic wallets, and mobile banking. Examining the impact of financial technology on payment behaviour by collecting data from a sample of students at the National University of Laos, which has grown increasingly widespread due to technological advances and user-friendliness. Using linear regression on the illustrations and logistic regression for the financial technology selection factor model, the connection between financial technology and financial behaviour and payment was evaluated. The researcher finishes with recommendations for the Bank of Laos, financial technology service providers, and the following educational institutions.
