Absztrakt (kivonat)

Oil price changes have had an influence on all the markets across the world over the last twenty years. The oil price reached an unsurpassed high in 2008, with a quick effect. The economy experienced enormous volatility, and this fast transition affected even the strongest economies. This generated a global debate on designing and implementing sustainable energy policies, as well as minimizing the effects of oil price fluctuation. Multiple frameworks and studies have been created previously to better comprehend and anticipate the consequences of fluctuations in the price of oil on GDP. Using a regression analysis approach, this study attempts to extend earlier investigations using current data. According to the findings, the unexpected rise in the price of oil have had a significant and negative impact on the rate of growth in GDP. Furthermore, the case studies show that the economy of the USA was more vulnerable to oil price fluctuations than other major economies. It is therefore possible to see the same negative or decreased growth in GDP in developed economies as is seen in emerging and developing countries. This article examines the Dutch Disease in Azerbaijan, the effect of oil prices on Azerbaijan's currency, and the impact of COVID-19. During the past 20 years, Azerbaijan has experienced broad monetary growth due to the increase in oil prices. Oil production and exports were growing rapidly and, as a result, became a major economic sector
