Bangladesh is a growing economy in the developing realm. It has made tremendous improvements in the social and economic sectors. The education sector of Bangladesh has undergone several reforms at different times with structure and curriculum for higher studies. Besides science, technology, business, and other social sciences students got interested in higher study. Nonetheless, the maximum number of students are studying science and technology, but the highest rate of students is from the latter group who left Bangladesh for higher studies in numerous parts of the world. Bangladesh has made a bilateral relationship with Hungary for sending one hundred students per year for higher studies including, undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D., since 2019. This number increased to a hundred-thirty in 2021 to strengthen the bilateral relationship and develop human resources in the energy sector for sustainable development in the energy sector in the 21st century. The study aims to explore the willingness of graduate and postgraduate students to go back to their home country after completing their graduation. This study focused on the following questions- under what conditions and which mechanism triggered them to move to Hungary for their higher study, why they want to stay in Hungary or go back to their home country, and possible opportunities for return or stay. An online survey method was used to collect primary data and data was collected through a structured questionnaire from the respondents by google form. Besides, the secondary data was collected from BBS, BANBEIS, and other journals and online sources. The data were analyzed with Microsoft Excel and SPSS. The study found that existing factors in higher education in Bangladesh and the unemployment problem push the students to migrate abroad as educational migrants where the absence of performance base career, adequate job facility, lengthy process to enter the entry-level job, skill mismatch with the labor market, limitations of curricula, inadequate teaching facilities with limited educational services were influential. The study also revealed that good relationships between education and industry, stable political and economic conditions, social security, flexible job facilities, and less time to enter the entry-level job significantly influenced the migrants’ students not to return home. Therefore, the research findings recommended some policy guidelines for the migrant students to motivate them with attractive schemes to return to their home country to contribute to their socio-economic development.
