Absztrakt (kivonat)

International division of production and the "fragmented" and "processing trade" has become the mainstream in the current era, the concept of global value chains is more and more popular, multinational companies in the global economy trade play a more and more critical role, or even a business or company's country allocation also increasingly fuzzy, these are changes in the global economic integration,  The in-depth discussion of global value chains is also gradually coming into people's vision.  In view of China's current economic development, it is urgent to improve the status of the value chains.  The rising price of production factors, the shortage of domestic resources and the slowdown of the current economic development speed all urge China to constantly improve its position in the global value chains from different aspects and master the right to speak in international economic activities to cope with the ever-changing global economic competition. One of the critical ways to deepen the global value chains is outward foreign direct investment; outward foreign direct investment is the process of a country embedding its production-related links into the global value chains.  Since the "go out" strategy was put forward, China's OFDI has been continuously developing and setting new highs, which has a significant impact on the improvement of China's international status and has made significant contributions to the continuous climb of China's position in the global value chains. OFDI has an inseparable relationship with the global value chains. With the proposal and implementation of the "Belt and Road" strategy, the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and other international cooperation platforms, China is objectively required to seize opportunities in the global value chains, improve its position in the value chains, and enhance its overall performance economic strength. For the research on global value chains and outward foreign direct investment, the existing research is very rich. Still, the empirical research on the relationship between the two is relatively small. Therefore, this thesis will conduct an in-depth analysis of the internal relationship between the two and study the relationship between the two from the national level, industry, and company levels, respectively. As a representative of emerging countries and developing countries, it is more meaningful to study China. Duke University believes that GVCs aim to create an industry-centric view of economic globalization, emphasizing the linkages between economic actors across geographies. At the industry level, manufacturing is the most typical industry that participates in the global value chains division of labour in outward foreign direct investment. Therefore, this thesis takes China's manufacturing industry as an example to classify the manufacturing industry segments, and study the impact of different types of outward foreign direct investment on the status of the value chains, what kind of impact will be produced, which will be more realistic and more instructive for the policy recommendations on improving the position of outward foreign direct investment in the value chains.
